The CyberPod will be located at Nova School of Business & Economics.
Lisbon, 24 September 2021 CYBERGYM – a global provider of cyber-readiness solutions – has signed an agreement with the Portuguese Mint and National Printing Office, INCM, for the provision of a new CyberPod training facility. The CyberPod will be located at Nova School of Business & Economics, in Carcavelos (Cascais, Lisbon). This is CYBERGYM’s second major project in Portugal, following the opening of a training facility with EDP in 2016 which has been successfully training EDP employees of all levels to deal with cyberattacks.
National infrastructure and government entities are some of the most threatened and attacked organizations in the world. As a company responsible for the production of goods and services that are essential to the functioning of the Portuguese State, such as the identity and travel documents, the minting of coins and the official publications, INCM must protect itself from potential attackers worldwide. As an external training facility, the CyberPod will provide an environment in which INCM staff can engage completely with their training.
Consistent with the CYBERGYM model, the new CyberPod will employ advanced technologies for skills and knowledge training of staff throughout INCM, with a comprehensive range of courses that cater to their existing cyber readiness and skill level. The unique live-training programs involve hackers running complex cyberattacks on infrastructure systems designed to emulate those used in the organization. The CYBERGYM methodology has been proven to be the most effective way to instill long-term cyber skills and awareness in employees and
professional staff of organizations in high-risk industries.
The CyberPod will make use of CYBERGYM’s existing global spread of 10 Cyberwarfare Arenas, in cities including New York, Melbourne, Tokyo and Amsterdam, and supports CYBERGYM’s strategy to set up Arenas in a network that is to cover the financial capitals of the world.
“This collaboration with INCM is our second project in Portugal, and also cements our foothold in this country, now in the sector of the identity of citizens and traceability of goods, following the opening in July 2021 of the Tel Aviv Finance arena” says Ofir Hason, Co-Founder and CEO of CYBERGYM. “At the same time, the location of the CyberPod at supports our commitment to the education sector.” INCM, an important partner of the Portuguese State and of different international institutions
in the production of identification documents and in the development of digital solutions for service provision, has been recently investing in Industry 4.0 and in the robotisation of its infrastructures and procedures.
“This investment has contributed to greater efficiency in INCM’s production and to more diversified business areas. However, we are quite aware of the increased cyber security risks in areas where we increasingly position ourselves: the identity and traceability of goods and services. Cyber awareness is an institutional responsibility for our teams, for our customers and for all those who, on a daily basis, make use of a product bearing our signature”, says Alcides Gama, INCM board member. “Following an extensive, meticulous selection process we are delighted to have appointed CYBERGYM as the provider of our new cyber security training facility. We look forwarded to working closely with them as we get the CyberPod up
and running.”
